Event Description

Where do you call home? What makes a home? Is home where the heart is?

Child of a pukkah English officer and a very badly behaved daughter of the British Raj, Jane Clifton grew up perpetually on the move as the family followed her father’s army postings all over the world.
As an adult, living in the fast-moving worlds of anti-war demos, women’s lib, experimental theatre, rock ‘n’ roll, and TV, she kept up the family tradition of changing addresses without so much as a backward glance.

Jane’s parents both died young, a loss that left her with many haunting questions. This is the story of Jane’s search for answers and a funny, frank, engaging memoir of her life along the way.

Jane Clifton grew to adulthood in Australia where she has carved out a four-decade long show business career that included her long-running role as Margo Gaffney. in the TV series Prisoner. Actress, singer, author, MC, debater, trivia quiz mistress and more recently, marriage celebrant, Jane is a passionate supporter of the Essendon Football Club, solver of cryptic crosswords and mother of two.

Bookings in advance essential. Book online or book and pay in the Library. Adults $10, pensioners and students $8 (passes must be shown). Enquiries 9978 4091.
