This is the second Honey Brown novel I have read this year the first being The good daughter which I thought was good without being great. After the darkness was far more compelling and managed to keep me amused whilst languishing in bed with a cold for 2 days. Bruce and Trudy are Mr & Mrs Perfect with the 3 well adjusted children, the country house and the successful property development business and quite frankly I wanted them dead by page 3. They are returning from a romantic holiday without the kids (as you do) when they see a sign advertising an art gallery. Deciding to take a quick look proves a fatal mistake and Bruce & Trudy's lives are changed forever following events that take place in the cliff-top gallery. I wouldn't say I didn't like this book Honey Brown writes quite well and it was certainly a page turner, however I felt there were a couple of faults in the storyline where things didn't quite add up, and I find that quite irritating in a thriller.

I too found this book a well written page turner. The downside was an implausible plot and an unbelievably convenient ending for Trudy and Bruce who luckily for them didn't seem to have a conscience.
