Arden Arrowood is only eight when her twin sisters inexplicably disappear. Nearly twenty years later, she inherits her family's rambling plantation estate. Disjointed memories and unanswered questions about the missing girls abound, and Arden reluctantly teams up with an amateur investigator to find out who is responsible for the death of her sisters. The pace of this book was fast from the start, with lots of childhood flashbacks and fond memories of growing up on the Mississippi. The language is concise and dialogue realistic. The suspense in the plot is very strong and the ending unpredictable- I really enjoyed this.
