This book was written by Iranian American journalist Azadeh Moaveni who rerturned to Iran in 2005 to work and fell in love. She ended up staying in Iran for two years and witnessed the elections which brought Ahmadinejad to power. The book is well written and gives an excellent incite into middleclass life in today's Iran. She describes the changes that occurred after Ahmadinejad's election and how they affected the lifestyle of her friends and neighbours. The book is especially relevant in light of the Presidential elections in Iran this week. She also wrote 'Lipstick Jihad' about her time in Iran in the late 1990s when she was trying to come to terms with her Iranian heritage after being brought up in the United States. This book is also worth reading.
