Don't often read science fiction but the book came from the person who turned me on to William Gibson so I thought I'd give it a go.
Based on the look and feel of the paperback, I thought it was from the 1980s and I was about to rave about the writer's prescience. Now I've just found out it was published in 2006 and won the 2007 Hugo Award for Best Novel. The book's dedication - to Wikipedia, Google, eBay and 'the other internet-based cognitive tools' - obviously missed my attention,
the web has rewired my brain.
Still, I enjoyed the conceit of an always-on wearable internet - seems just a small step into the future. I think I'll read more of
Vernor Vinge.
