Watching my mother-in-law deteriorate mentally, via skype from the U.S., is terribly sad. "Still Alice" is a gripping novel which provides a unique perspective written from the view of the Alzheimer's patient. Both the protagonist and the author are neurology professors at Harvard, so the background is impeccably thorough and highly entertaining.
