A funny book about Gerald who is a lowly 3rd grade magician who can't keep a job but when the King of New Ottosland needs a new Court Wizard Gerald leaps at the chance of a fresh start. But unfortunately the king has some strange ideas about how to run a kingdom and Gerald starts to realise he may not be the magician for this job! With great support characters and interesting magic I found it to be a good book and am looking forward to the next in the series.
