After reading Steve Toltz's A Fraction of the Whole I needed something mediocre to read before I got into anything substantial and so I chose The Romantics and I was not disappointed - it was very mediocre. About a bunch of superficial, shallow and spiteful 'friends' attending the wedding of mutual 'friends' it had one redeeming aspect - it was short!
