I don't believe that this was a smooth transition to writing for children, maybe in book 2. I also won't be surprised if this isn't made into a movie! Enclyclopaedia Brown is believable, this isn't even plausible!

Biggest complaint? A huge cliffhanger, in which Grisham refuses to wrap up the plot we've been following for 250-plus pages. Could have been shorter.

Are there even any kids who want to be lawyers?

Theo Boone is not only the child of two lawyers, he is an aspiring lawyer (or maybe judge) whose friends come to him for legal advice.

I found John Grisham to be stilted and a bit condescending. Stick to adult fiction!
