#oznzreads
The #readit2011 Reader's Challange is an initiative of the NSW Reader's Advisory Group and aims to encourage library users and readers to join the monthly book group and tweet about their reading. Each month the group suggests a different theme to read and tweet and this month it is Australian and New Zealand literature.
Australia and New Zealand offer a wealth literature both fiction and non-fiction and this month the reader's challenge invites you to explore some of these great works. If you haven't already read Australian authors such as Tim Winton, David Malouf or Helen Garner then maybe it's time! Or why not try some of the talented authors New Zealand has to offer such as Keri Hulme (The Bone People) or Alan Duff (Once were Warriors). These are just a couple of suggestions from what's on offer. Browse the past winners of The Miles Franklin or The Prime Minister's Literary Award or New Zealand Book Awards or if you are in the library grab an Australian author book mark or browse the shelves for fiction with an orange dot.
Check out the Readit 2011 blog for more information and join the twitter discussion by adding the hashtag #oznzreads to your twitter posts. At the end of the month (April 26) their will be a live discussion on twitter at 8.00 (EST).
