"Book lovers never go to bed alone"
Happy New Year to Mosman Readers everywhere!
Hope you are looking forward to another great year of reading and posting reviews. I know I am, and can't wait to see what new releases the year has in store both from my favourite authors as well as debut ones. 2012 also sees the start of the much anticipated National Year of Reading 2012, a full year dedicated to all things literary. Each month will be devoted to a different theme to encourage inspiration and discussion about books and reading. To kick start the year, this January The National Year of Reading is asking all readers’ one question
'What’s your amazing read?’
Is it something that transports you to a different world such as George R. R. Martin’s Song of Fire and Ice series, or is it escape in the form of romance or chicklit like Marion Keyes? Perhaps it’s an intellectually stimulating classic like Camus’ The Outsider or something modern and thought provoking like We Need to Talk about Kevin? No matter what kind of books you enjoy there must be a few titles that really stand out. It could be something that changed your life when you were young or it may be something you read just recently that really blew your mind.
We’d love to here what your amazing read is. Tell us here or on facebook and if you’d like to get even more involved The National Year of Reading is running a twitter love2read reading group where you can tweet about your amazing read (as well as the other monthly themes). Simply tweet using the hashtag #NYR12 and others will be able to have a conversation with you. There will be a live twitter discussion January 31stso if your interested put that date in your diary!
