It was on her 23rd birthday, in 1893, that Ethel Turner, once a Mosman resident, sat down to start her first novel - she recorded that important event in her diary. The result was the enchanting Seven Little Australians, and one hundred years later, it was the only book by an Australian author to have been continuously in print for a century.
