The blurb on this book looked good. Intrigue in foreign places, spys, a love interest, expat communities in an exotic location...Pultizer Price nominated author...unfortunately the story didn't seem to go anywhere it did seem like it was going to and I kept reading it but to no availIt was a very superficial look at the relationship between Islam and Christianity and really not worth getting into. Lets hope the book that Diane johnson was nominated for is a lot better than this one.

I was looking forward to reading this but I think I'll give it a miss now. I did read a book of hers in the late eighties called Persian Nights set in Iran which was a good read about an American expat working at Shiraz University. It had intrigue and romance and was sympathetic to Iran.
