This is the eleventh book in the Inspector Ilkmen series set in Istanbul.I love the chain smoking inspector and his family and I would recommend this series to lovers of detective novels and those interested in Turkish culture. This book is set not only in Istanbul but also in the eastern part of Turkey near the border with Syria where the peoplle are very different including a remnant of the old Suriani Christian community. The crime gangs are organised on old family clans.I lead me to investigate the history of the area and especially the Suriani Christians.
