Andrew Manson is a gifted physician who undergoes great changes in his personality in the quest for the perfect life for himself. As an idealist he can achieve little, as he can not fund any of his great plans and as a capitalist he is very successful but loses sight of his dreams and goals in the pursuit of money.

Set in the 1920’s this portrait of the English medical system seen through the eyes of an insider makes the reader very thankful for Medicare. Corruption is the name of the game and any operation or bottle of medicine the doctors can palm off on their unsuspecting patients is another guinea in the pocket. Though Manson has other plans when his world is turned upside down…

Really enjoyed this one eight flaming skulls
