This book is from a first time author who is also a poet which I think is evident in the story with the very vivid descriptions of the characters and the situations the characters find themselves in. The story centres around the two main characters, Howard, a lonely 20 something overweight, shy, society misfit and Saul a ten year old, only child , who has the ability to perform amazing memory tricks. They are thrown together in unusual circumstances and, different as they are, they decide to go on a journey without Saul's over protective parents knowledge. The situations they find themselves in and the characters they meet makes for some hysterical reading at times. I wouldn't say it is the most deep and meaningful book I've read but certainly entertaining and well worth a read.
