Aussie authors make Booker prize longlist!

The longlist for the 2010 Man Booker Prize for Fiction has just been announced and amongst then is our very own Peter Carey and Christos Tsiolkas. Carey’s Parrot and Olivier in America is his fifth nomination for the prestigious prize. He has won the prize twice previously with Oscar and Lucinda in 1988 and True History of the Kelly Gang in 2001. Tsiolkas’s The Slap has also made the list after taking out the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize last year. The shortlist will be announced on September 7^th and the winner on October 12^th.
