A series of questions relating to books and reading has been circulating arounds blogs lately. I saw this on
Booktager you might want to answer them. Here are mine
Do you snack while you read? If so, favourite reading snack?
Not often but sometimes I like to nibble on Kettle chips.
Do you tend to mark books as you read them, or does the idea of writing on books horrify you?
I never mark books - it horrifys me especially as I work in a library. People who mark Library books are very naughty in my book.
How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog ears? Leaving the book open flat?
I have lovely book marks that I usually use. At the moment I am attached to a boarding pass and in the dim past I have dog earred pages. But I would never ever leave a book open flat - it damages the spine!
Fiction, Non-Fiction or both?
Both
Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
I always read to the end of chapters - unless I am falling asleep and can't keep my eyes open.
If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?
After all my years of reading I never come across unfamiliar words!
What are you currently reading?
The Crying Tree - Naseem Rakha
What is the last book you bought?
Hollywood Divorces - Jackie Collins at Sydney airport and I wish I hadn't wasted my money!
Are you the type of person that can only read one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time?
I can two at a time if one is fiction and one is non-fictin.
Do you prefer series or stand alone books?
Usually stand alone books. I've found that books in series are repetitive.
Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over?
No
How do you organise your books (by genre, author's last name etc.)?
I don't have to organise my books - they are organised for me by the Library.
