This compilation, consisting of the first 3 books "Firedrake" "Ice dragon" and "Wolfhelm" from the authors first published series "The Dragonrealm" is a great introduction to the writters worlds, characters, and depth of scale. The editing in the original printings was a little sloppy but seems to have been tidied up for this reprinting making it an almost perfect read. The characters are deep and lively and the world is vast and immediately believable. This is epic fantasy at its finest. If sword, sorcery and most of all DRAGONS are your cup of tea then this is without a doubt essential reading.
