I was suprised to come across this article in The Guardian about John Le Carre's request to be taken out of consideration for this year's Man Booker International Prize. Read the following article to find out why!

Here is the list of the 13 authors shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize which is awarded every 4 years and which was announced in Sydney today!
The thirteen authors on the list are:
- Wang Anyi (China)
- Juan Goytisolo (Spain)
- James Kelman (UK)
- John le Carré (UK)
- Amin Maalouf (Lebanon)
- David Malouf (Australia)
- Dacia Maraini (Italy)
- Rohinton Mistry (India/Canada)
- Philip Pullman (UK)
- Marilynne Robinson (USA)
- Philip Roth (USA)
- Su Tong (China)
- Anne Tyler (USA)
My vote goes to Amin Maalouf who is an amazing author. I recommend the following two books by him- Gardens of Light and Samarkand.I also think David Malouf would be a deserving winner.
