Mosman Library is launching its new collection of Book Club Kits on Thursday 28 May and will be following up on this event by running special seminars for those who want to set up their own Book Clubs.
Book Clubs have become increasingly popular over the last few years. Mosman Library runs six Book Clubs including a special Men’s Reading Discussion Group and we are receiving many requests for multiple copies of books from people running their own book clubs. The new collection of 25 Book Club kits containing 10 copies of each book plus Discussion Notes and has been developed to meet this demand.
The 25 Book Club Kits contain a variety of books to suit all reading tastes such as classics like “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck to ‘Cloudstreet’ by Tim Winton and all titles have been specially selected to suite Book Club discussions.
The purchase of the Book Club Kits was funded by a Library Development Grant from the Library Council of New South Wales.
Mosman Library will be presenting four information seminars on “How to run a Book Club” These seminars will include information on how to start a book group, using the Library’s online readers advisory databases and introducing the new Mosman Library Book Club Kits. The seminars are free and will be held in the Library on the following dates:
Monday 15 June at 10.30am
Tuesday 16 June at 7pm
Wednesday 17 June at 10.30am
Thursday 18June at 2.30pm
